Summer Camp

I have been given the opportunity to go to summer camp as a chaperone for the girls of our youth group at Church. We leave tomorrow morning. I am excited about going, but am also a little sad to be leaving my daughter behind. Kaelyn has assured me that she will be just fine and is going to have fun while her Dad, brother and I are away at camp. She did throw in there for good measure, "I will miss you, but I want you to go have fun." Wow, how much our children pick up on from us. Guess she could tell that I needed to go "hang with the girls" and have a good time, while hearing the Word of God.

My prayer while we are at camp, is that each person will leave there with a heart wanting to know more about Jesus and wanting to go and share with others. I pray that this will be a time for our youth group to grow closer together and learn more about each other too. I will appreciate that prayers that will be lifted up while we are gone.

Will post about our summer camp when I get home. Hopefully will have some pictures to go along with that post.

"This Ain't Prettyville Tour"

Back in April, my sister bought tickets for us to go and see Chonda Pierce in her This Ain't Prettyville Tour. (This was a birthday gift to me from Crystal) I picked Crystal up and we drove to Ocala, we ate dinner at Carrabba's then it was off to FBC Ocala to see Chonda. If you don't know who Chonda is, she is a Christian comedian. We laughed until we cried. I had such a good time with my sister, and am so thankful for her and the way that she thinks of others. It was a packed house last night. When the doors opened there were women that started running to get a "good seat". Not only were they running, they were also pushing others out of their way. I just couldn't believe my eyes. You know it is a shame that a group of women can't go to an event like this and be patient instead of acting like a bunch of unruly people. Then there were the people with posters, saving rows of seats for people. You know I don't have a problem with saving someone a seat, but when there are that many people in a place trying to find a seat and you have people saving rows of seats, then those rows not even filling up, that just makes no sense. Anyway, I really enjoyed this Girls Night Out for the "This Ain't Prettyville Tour". If you didn't get a chance to go and would like to see it, you can go to http://lifewaystores.com/ and purchase the DVD. This would make a great gift for any lady.

To my sister, Crystal, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY GIFT!! I love you.

Tyler's Birthday

Today my firstborn (Tyler) turns 12. WOW, only one year until we hit the teen years. I'm having a little trouble soaking that in. Where has the time gone? Seems as if yesterday we were celebrating the birth of our son and today he is 12. Tyler is getting so tall, he is already looking me eye to eye, and that means that in no time at all he will be passing on over my head.

Tyler at 5 months.

When our children have a birthday, we let them choose how they want to celebrate their day. Tyler wants to go out to eat tonight, then go bowling and get ice cream afterwards. Man, what a difference between him and his sister Kaelyn. He would rather just have a family celebration, while Kaelyn would choose to have a party with some of her friends. Not sure if it is the age or if it is a girl thing. Anyway, I am so glad he likes to celebrate with his family.
