Free Valentine Cards

** Giveaway is Closed **

As you know from my last post, I participated in the 25 free Valentine Cards from Shutterfly . After submitting the post I had written, I received a response back from Shutterfly with a code to redeem for my 25 free cards. Not only did I get a code to use for myself, they also gave me a code to share with one of my readers. So I am going to do a quick giveaway for one of you to get the other code. Just leave me a comment that you would like to have the code. I will randomly pick someone on Tuesday, February 1 around 2:00 p.m.

“Be Mine…”

I’ll never forget the homemade cards that my children made for me when they were younger. Those cards hold a very special place in my heart because they came from their heart. The lopsided hearts, the “Be Mine”, “I love you” and all the other sweet sentiments that they each wrote out in their wobbly handwriting and of course a few misspelled words.

I don’t have to tell you that we have just a few short weeks until Valentines Day is here. So when people start talking about this special day of love, what do you think of? I think about family and friends and letting them know how much I love them. There are many different ways to convey your love to someone, flowers, candy, and cards just to name a few. One of my favorite ways to say “I love you” to family and friends is to send them a card.

Shutterfly has  some really cute Valentine cards that you can personalize to send out to the ones that you love.  I have looked at them and found some that I think are so cute.

Not only do they have cute cards to send out, Shutterfly also has a line of cute photo and personalized photo gifts. One thing that caught my eye were the calling cards. These would be perfect to hand out to new friends (or even old friends). Of course I can’t tell you about them without showing you one of the ones that I liked the best.

Don’t forget about those thank you cards you may need to send out to the ones who get you all the cute little Valentine gifts to show their love to you.

It's a Wrap...Grilled Chicken that is

Today's lunch = $9.47

Eating with my sister = Priceless

My sister has been in the "big city" this week for classes that she has to have for work. So when I found out that she would be coming over each day I called and asked if she wanted to meet for lunch one day.  So today I met her and a coworker for lunch at the Harvest Thyme Cafe. This was the first time that either one of us had ever eaten there, and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed. I got there Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap and absolutely loved it. I had taken my camera with me so that I could get a few photos of my sister and I, however it stayed in my purse the entire time. We were to busy visiting that I forgot all about my camera and didn't get the first picture. I thought about it when I was in my car on the way home.

Little Bit of Sweetness

Over the past several months I have noticed that there are some crafty people out there in the blog world.  After reading about and looking at some of the crafts/home projects that a lot of you all are involved in, I decided that I needed a project too. Mind you that mine is not in any way as elaborate as some of the others, but I am happy with it just the same.

Yesterday morning I got busy at the computer making my design, then I headed to Michael’s to get the supplies that I would need to complete the project. This is what I started out with:

DSCN2869 A plain brown wooden picture frame.

DSCN2871 I then used this white spray paint to paint the frame.DSCN2873 Waiting for the paint to dry.

DSCN2883 Here it is all finished.

DSCN2884

I know that Valentine’s Day is still a month away, but I wanted to go ahead and make something to put up now so that we would have more than one day to enjoy it. I’m already thinking about what my next project is going to be.

A Year in Pictures

For the last year I have been wanting to do a "year in pictures" blog. So I have finally got one up and going. My plan is to take a picture a day and post it on my other blog site.  If you have time, come on over and take a look around.

Our new home....

We are finally moved into our "new to us" house. This last week has definitely been a rough one for me. While I am happy about our move, I am also a tad bit sad. As I stated in my previous post, the house we left was the one where we brought Tyler home from the hospital and where both of our children have spent the majority of their lives. I knew it was going to be hard, but goodness I didn't realize how hard it was going to be. So on my last morning of waking up at the "old house" (as my nephews call it) I was very teary and admit I cried more that day than I have cried in a long while. My husband was very supportive and understanding of all this crying that I was doing, (by the way have I ever told you all how much I love that man of mine?). Well I made it through that day and each day since then.

Once we got moved in, our living room looked like this for several days.

We had to wait for several days for our furniture to be delivered (we opted for getting new living room furniture as our other set we had for almost 15 years and needless to say, after two kids and that many years it had seen better days).  So this is what our living room looks like now with our furniture.
