My lack of posting

I have to say that I lost all my pictures that I had taken from April until August 25th. I had just put all my pictures from my camera (from that last couple of weeks) on to my laptop on Thursday night (8/25) and was going to catch up posting with  the pictures for the last several weeks. Well I was tired and decided that I would post them on Friday while the kids were at school. After I loaded the pictures on to the computer, I deleted them off my memory card, which is something I rarely do. I knew when I did it, that I should not have done it.  For whatever reason, my computer decided that it needed to do a recovery and I hit the wrong key and it basically cleared everything off my computer (pictures, documents, spreadsheets, EVERYTHING). Apparently I clicked restore back to initial, which made it go back to what it was when I got my laptop back in April.  Talk about being upset, but I was. I think I cried just about all day on Friday.

I had so many different things that I wanted to share here on my blog, having my nephews stay with us for a couple of days,  the kids first day of school, jelly making with some friends. I had pictures to go with each one of these posts, but unfortunately I no longer have them.  I will still share about some of these things in the next day or two. Right now it is late and to be quite honest I am tired and ready to go to bed.

Lunchbox Ideas, anyone?

{source}

Where has the summer gone? I can't believe that come Monday, my two will be heading off to school again. This year I have one entering 9th grade and my "baby" heading off to 6th grade. One of the things as a parent I have to think about is what to pack for their lunch each day. Of course there are always the sandwiches that can go in the lunch boxes, but you know as well as I do that we all get tired of sandwiches. So I went in search of some lunchbox ideas. I went online to one of my favorite places,

While there I found a few ideas that I think will help with lunches not getting boring this school year.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi

Southwestern Club Wrap

Spinach Salad with Feta Cheese

Now I just need to finish my grocery list and get to the store to get supplies for our back to school lunches. If anyone has any tips on packing school lunches, I would love to hear about them.

Swimming Fun & Other Stuff.

For the last couple of years, my Aunt has been house/pet sitting some during the summer for a former co-worker that she is friends with. Each year this friend has told my Aunt that she was more than welcome to invite us over to swim in her pool and just hang out at her house while my Aunt has been there. So this weekend my Aunt  was house/pet sitting and invited us to come over and swim today.

My son Tyler with my nephews Waylon & Wyatt
Love this little guy!
Wyatt swimming to the side of the pool after jumping off the diving board.
Waylon enjoying floating in the pool.
My daughter Kaelyn getting ready to try her hand at juggling some water balls.
Wyatt jumping in.
Waylon getting ready to jump in.
It started thundering so we had to get out of the pool, then it came a down pour for about half an hour. So we went inside and Waylon wanted to take a picture with my camera.
Being the nice aunt that I am, I let him carry my camera around the house and take some pictures. Here are some of the ones he took. Remember these were taken at an eye level of a newly five year old.

I had fun today with these guys. Enjoyed time in the pool with my kids, my sister & her two boys and my mom. My Aunt didn't get in the pool with us today )-: but we still had lots of fun. Thanks for inviting us over for the day.

A day out

Today was one of those days that I keep looking back on and smiling. My kids and I met up with my mom, my sister and my two favorite little guys for lunch. We ate at the TEXAS ROADHOUSE, one of the favorite places my nephews like to eat at.
My nephew Waylon (he was my shopping buddy at Target today)

Kaelyn and my nephew Wyatt. Notice what he is doing with the fork? He said he was making a "slingshot".  He was putting peanuts on the end of his fork and then he would use the other fork to hit the end and send the peanut flying. I just happened to take this picture before his Momma got on to him.

After lunch we stopped in at Old Navy, then onto Rack Room Shoes. Crystal got a good deal on school shoes for the boys, not to mention we were in and out of there in record time. Then we went to Target. Waylon was my shopping buddy for the Target trip. He started out walking, then ended up getting in the back of the buggy and eventually decided he would rather ride in the child seat. I had so much fun with Waylon today.

I'll end this post with some of the things Waylon said today.

Waylon: Aunt Tania, why is that dog in here? (Talking about the service dog in Target)
Me: That is a working dog, we can't play with it or talk to it okay.
Waylon: I don't see it working.

Waylon: You smell good (after he sniffed my arm and shirt)
Me: Thank you

Waylon: I'm playing the drums (hitting my arm), Aunt Tania you are an instrument.

As we were walking down an aisle this lady says to Waylon, "I like your glasses." His response was, "They're not glasses, they're my windshield." I didn't know if I should laugh or try to explain. He then puts his fingers at the bottom of the lens and says, "Here are my wipers." She gave a little laugh and said that he was very cute and should be on TV.

All I can say is there is never a dull moment with him or his brother. I am looking forward to them coming to stay a few days with me next week.
