A Trip to the Beach

Last week we were able to spend a few days at the beach. My in-laws rented a condo in St. Augustine for the week and invited us to come stay too. On Friday (the 15th) Ray and Harriet (my in-laws) picked our kids up and took them on to the beach. Then on Saturday they met up with my husbands brother and his wife to pick up the other two grandkids. There is a big age difference with the four grandkids, our kids are 12 and 15 while the Aidan is 7 and Sean is 4. On Sunday (Father's Day) we joined them in St. Augustine along with Doug & Caryn (my brother-in-law and his wife). Went out to dinner to celebrate the Dads and then back to the condo. Doug and his family visited for a while and then headed back home. Ray & Harriet decided that they would go ahead and head on home too so that our little family could have some time together at the beach. Once everyone left we put on our bathing suits and headed down to the beach.

On Monday we took the kids to the Ripley's Museum and also walked around St. George Street. We went back to the condo to rest and then got ready to go out to dinner. We went to Saltwater Cowboys.

We got up Tuesday morning and went back down to the beach for a few hours then it was time for us to pack up and head back home. Ray and Harriet went back to stay for the rest of the week to have some down time. We really enjoyed our time there and are so thankful that we were asked to go and stay.

I'll end this post with a photo that I took while at the beach, made Kaelyn and I laugh as we were sitting on the beach while Chuck and Tyler were out in the water.

Movies, Bikes and Lego's

Last week while my nephews were staying with us, we took them to the movies to see Madagascar 3.

They were very good, (and we made it through the entire movie without having to leave out to go to the bathroom) Waylon sat very quietly watching the movie while Wyatt had to comment on just about everything. Love that boy, but man can he talk. When I used to keep him before he started school, he would talk and talk to me about any and everything all day long.

When we got back to the house it was time for some bike riding in the drive way.

They had been talking about getting their bikes out and racing. Once we got home though, they decided that they would just ride bikes and not race.

Wyatt decided that it was just too hot outside and went in to build with the Lego's.

I love it when these two little guys come to visit. They are always so much fun and we learn a lot from them.

Camera

Have you ever thought you needed wanted something, but the cost of said item was not in your budget? Well that's how I have felt for a few years now about getting a new camera. I have really wanted to get one, but just haven't had the extra money for one. Although a few months ago my husband offered to buy one for me, but knowing that we really needed to use the money for something else (I'll be posting about that in the next week or so) I turned down his offer. (Gasp!! I know)  Okay, back to the purpose of this post, I saw where GroopDealz is doing a giveaway for a Nikon D3100 DSLR camera. Woo Hoo!! So of course I had to enter to win this camera.

Houseguests

I'm not sure who was more excited about my nephews coming to stay with us for "two sleepovers" me or them. Both Waylon and Wyatt had so much they wanted to say that it was non stop talking for hours. After my sister and brother-in-law left the house, it was time for the boys and I to get down to business. We had a grocery list to make and then off to the store to buy some food. The boys were great helpers at the store and did not add extra items to our shopping cart.

On our way home from the store we passed by a tractor dealership. Waylon saw the tractors out there and proceeded to tell us, "My dad and I need a tractor, because we are fixing to be farmers." Not sure if his dad knows this or not. So that his momma and dad know, here are the tractors that Waylon thinks that they need for farming.

After supper and getting the boys bathed (I just supervised, they can get showers by themselves) they finally got settled into their jammies. We pulled out the sleeping bags so that they could have a camp out in the living room.

Waylon and Wyatt are already talking about getting their bikes out and having races on them tomorrow. I have some other fun things for them to do too.  I just love having my nephews come stay with me.
