Plant Seeds

Several weeks ago I entered a giveaway over at Infarrantly Creative for a gift certificate to the The Rusted Chain. Well I was one of the winners for her giveaway. When I checked the mail today (I love getting mail) my package from The Rusted Chain was waiting for me. This is what I got with my gift certificate.

You are probably thinking, “Why in the world would she get a necklace that says PLANT SEEDS on it?”.  I’ll tell you why. Even though I am not a  gardener or farmer (I just don’t have a green thumb)  my husband and I are Church planters and are planting the seeds of the gospel in our area. I think that this is a great conversation starter.  Thank you Infarrantly Creative for hosting this giveaway and for picking me as a winner. HE IS RISEN

What a glorious day! As we get ready to go to Church and hear the resurrection message my prayer is that we will all take time to reflect on the true meaning of Easter.

Luke 24: 1-8 (NIV)  On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.” Then they remembered his words.

Luke 24:46-47 (NIV)  He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations…”

To think that Jesus would lay down his life, for a sinner like me. For God the Father to sacrifice the life of his one and only Son shows how deep the Father’s love for us is.

Tile Coasters

Here lately I have been feeling kind of of “crafty” Let me explain, first of all when I want to sit down in the living room to  have a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea, I have to get a napkin and set it on the table so that it doesn’t mess my table up. So I was thinking that I really needed to get some coasters to put on the table. I would look at different stores for some but just couldn’t seem to find anything that I really liked. Well I found this cute little blog, The Cottage Home and while looking around I went to her tutorial page and saw the cutest tile coaster tutorial. After reading the directions and see how easy it would be to make my own, I decided that I would try it. I gathered my supplies and went to work.

I started my project on Wednesday afternoon, and by the time everything was dry I was able to finish it up This morning by placing the felt on the back. Then I was able to use them this evening.

I think that they turned out pretty good. They were very easy to make and I’m thinking that they will make cute little gifts.

Birthday & A Blessing.....

Today is my 3? birthday.  Wow this past year has gone by so quick, seems like I was just sitting here not long ago posting about my last birthday which we were at Disney for. Well we didn't actually go to Disney to celebrate my birthday, we had taken the kids there for spring break and my birthday just happened to fall during that time. Anyway back to today, this morning Kaelyn brought out the "birthday banner" that she had made for me.


The paper at the bottom says: Love, Kaelyn, Chuck and Tyler.

I have such a sweet family. I had a great day today, spent some time alone and in prayer. God has blessed me with so much and I am so thankful for that. I have a wonderful husband who loves the Lord and two great kids. I haven't written a lot about our family answering the call to be Church planters. There is so much that is involved with it and to be quite honest hard to find the words to write about. One thing that I know is that we have had days that have been rough and we keep pressing on. This is something that God has called our family to and there are going to be days like that. It has been so much harder than I ever thought that it would be but at the same time the blessings that we are getting are so much more than I could have ever imagined. Tonight we had our first home bible study as a church plant. This was a very memorable time, as it was the night that our daughter admitted that she was a sinner and couldn't save herself. Kaelyn prayed and asked God to forgive her of her sins and is now living with Jesus in her heart. Praise the LORD! This Momma was in tears and praising God. I got the best present ever by hearing my daughter pray and ask God to be ruler of her heart.
