Making Ice Cream

Several weeks ago Kaelyn told me that she really likes to “create and play with Play-Doh”.  So I surprised her with the Play-Doh Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe.  The cost of this was $14.99, to make the deal sweeter, I had a coupon for this particular product for $5.00 off, making it $9.99 + tax. I used a $10 gift card that I had, therefore I didn’t pay much out of pocket.

So yesterday she pulled it out for her and my two nephews to make some “ice cream cones” with.

It says that you can make lots of tasty looking make believe treats, like the ones below.3111554_Image_4Supposedly the fun doesn't stop with cones and sundaes. They say you can let your imagination run wild as you make all kinds of Play-Doh candies, cookies and pretzels. Press, swirl and twirl a world of magical treats. Well here at our house we were not able to get any of our “magical treats” to turn out like theirs. Imagine that.

Then you can also decorate and celebrate.

3111554_Image_5 They say you can decorate the make-believe cake with candles, flowers and whatever else you can think of. Play-Doh makes it easy to make whatever your imagination cooks up. Apparently our imaginations do not cook up pretty things like the above picture. We were also unsuccessful in our endeavor to make pretty cakes.

The age range for the Play-Doh Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe is ages 3 to 6.  After seeing Kaelyn and the boys playing with this, I would not recommend it for anyone under the age of 6.  Another thing is the clean up, it can get quite messy. Although she enjoys playing with this that she doesn’t mind the clean up so much.

I am so thankful that she still enjoys playing with play-doh and doesn’t want to grow up to fast as a lot of girls her age do. This could change very soon, so for the moment I am enjoying my “little/big girl”.

  1. Looks like fun! My girls love(d) to play with Play-Doh. Then Moon Sand came along and after doing the clean-up on both, I'd much rather have the Play-Doh!!!
