My First Creation

I have had a few people wanting to see some of the things that I have made since getting my cricut. So I am posting pictures today of the birthday card that I have made for Kaelyn, (now I just have to keep her from looking at my posts until after her party).

This is the front of the card.

A close up of the word "birthday"

The flower on the bottom left hand side.
I used the Simply Sweet cartridge for this card, and just used the sample that was in the front of the little book that came with the it.

To make this card I started with pink card stock cut at 6"x12", which I then folded in half. After that I cut two strips of patterned paper and attached them to the front of the card stock. Then using the cricut I cut HAPPY out in one inch letters then again in the one inch shadow feature. For this I used pink and green paper. Then I used the pink and green again to cut out birthday, and layered slightly off-center and attached it to the bottom right of the card. When I made the flower I cut out a peach circle using the stitch feature and then laced white ribbon through it. I then cut two flowers in different sizes. After attaching the flowers onto the circle, I used beads that you would make a bracelet with for the center of the flower. To finish the card off I tied a white cream satin ribbon around the top portion of  the card.

Cricut

I finally decided to go ahead and purchase the Cricut Expression. Now that I have it, I am wondering why I didn't get one before now. I absolutely love it! I have used it quite a bit (as my schedule allows me to) to make invitations for Kaelyn's birthday party, and also some cards for a couple of special people in my life. Thanks to those of you that left a comment on the previous post for me and also to those of you that I talked to about getting a Cricut. You helped answer the questions that I had.

Opinion's Needed

For some time now, I have had my eye on the Cricut Expression and have been wanting to see about purchasing one. Before I do, I was wondering if there are any of you who read this post have one, or have used one and can give me your opinion about it. After seeing it on television I think that it would make my scrap booking endeavors a whole lot easier not to mention the cards, and other things that I could make. So if you have any thoughts about this (pros and/or cons) please leave me a comment.

Cake/Pie Server a Scam!

Back in July I did a post about a cake/pie server. Well I have to apologize to those of you who went to the site and filled out the info they asked for so that you could get your server for free. It seems that this was a "scam". After trying to go back to their site, apparently the tea salon and dessert parlor does not even exist. I looked around trying to see what info I could find and it seems from what other people were posting, the phone number listed for this place was a residential line and the folks there were clueless about the server. So my sincere apologies to everyone. Before I filled out the info with my name and address (and also before I posted it on my blog) I explored that website and everything seemed to be legitimate.
