Mini Vacation

Last Friday after Chuck got off work, our little family of four headed to my in-laws condo in Crystal River. We decided after having some busy weeks around here we needed a little R&R.

Saturday morning my mom, sister and her two little big boys came down for a day of swimming. Since the pool is in the condo community and it was a little far for all of us to walk we loaded up in my vehicle.
Before you start with the "Citizen's Arrest" or calling the "Police" or even thinking we are just very unsafe people, we didn't drive out on a highway/roadway. We were driving very slowly (slower than any school zones) and there were no other vehicles out and about. Okay, enough of that, back to our day. We had lots of fun swimming with these guys and gal. After swimming we went back to the condo for something to eat. What is it about swimming that makes you so hungry. Anyway, we had taco salads and then had some sweet treats of Double Stuff Oreo's and Chips Ahoy with Heath English Toffee. After visiting with our guest and playing a round of scrabble it was time for them to head home.

We were going to go out on Sunday and swim some more with our kiddo's and  possibly go kayaking, but the weather did not cooperate with us. So we were stuck inside pretty much all day. We ended up playing lots of games and just relaxing. It was a unanimous decision to go to the Riverside Crab House (or as some people call it Monkey Island) for dinner.

I love that we were able to get a window seat so that we could watch those monkeys while we waited on our food. This is a neat little seafood place to eat at and the food is pretty good too (-;   On our way back to the condo, we made a quick little stop at Dairy Queen for some dipped cones. It is a tradition to go to DQ while we are down there.

Monday morning we were up early and at the pool again. We were able to swim for about an hour and a half before it started raining again. It was then time to pack up and head back home. I am so thankful for the use of my in-laws condo. It makes a great getaway for our little family of four.
