Bob and Larry

My nephew Wyatt has gotten to where he wants to watch Veggie Tales when he is here at my house. That's not so bad, except for the fact that it is the same one over and over.

Watching this over and over isn't really that bad. He enjoys it and is learning while he watches it. He loves to sing along with the DVD.

This morning Wyatt found a tomato and cucumber and says to me, "Look, it's Bob and Warry (Larry)".

After lunch today, he decided to pull a chair up to the counter and get "Bob & Warry" to play. I had him put them away, not only was I afraid he was going to squeeze "Bob" and make a mess, but it was also time for a nap.

I just love this little guy so much and look forward to what he is going to come up with next.

You've Got Mail . . .

Don't you just love getting mail? I know I do, especially when I know that there just might be something good in there. A couple of weeks ago we stopped at the mailbox on our way home from getting the kiddo's from school. So Kaelyn jumps out to check the mail, and you know that you got something good in the mail as she hurries back to the car.

So on that particular day, we got this package in the mail:

and this is what was inside it:

Recently I had signed up to participate in the

Today when I checked my mail the Kraft Summer Savings Sample Box was in my mailbox.

and the contents of this box

There were three small bags of the Sundried Tomato & Basil Wheat Thins, three one serving size of Vanilla Carmel Latte cafe style beverage mix, two coupons - one for FREE package of KRAFT Homestyle Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese dinner (Kaelyn will be happy for that one) and the other one was for a FREE package of KRAFT Deli Deluxe Cheese. Then there was a rebate form, I just need to purchase $30 of any Kraft Foods products between 5/23/10-6/13/10 and I can get $10 via mail-in rebate.

Something else that makes getting mail fun, is that I have the sweetest mail lady, Mrs. Donna. I love it when I get a package in the mail that is to big to fit in my mailbox, because Mrs. Donna has to come up to the house and give it to me, I love getting to see her and having quick "chats" with her.

Looking forward to checking my mailbox over the next few weeks. I have a package coming from Asia that I won from a giveaway. You can go here to get a peak at what will be in my mail box soon.

A Quick Trip to Darlington

Last Friday morning a group of 22 people from our Church headed out early (met at the Church at 6:00 a.m. and left around 6:30 a.m.) for Darlington, South Carolina. We were on our way to the Darlington race track for the Nationwide race. The Welsh Neck Baptist Association sponsors a Bring-A-Kid Race Night at Darlington. We drove all day Friday and pulled into the Firehouse in Clio, SC where we would be bunking for the night. Clio is a very small town where our pastor grew up and still has family living there. He was able to make arrangements for us to stay there for the night. Thankfully they did not get called out on a fire while we were there, so the fire trucks were able to stay parked in their bay. After arriving at the firehouse we had about an hour or so of down time before it was time to head into Darlington to the racetrack. When we got to the track we were able to get our tickets and also a meal ticket for a hot dog and soda. We walked amongst many NASCAR fans and finally made it to the gate. Once inside the gate we found our seats and watched the driver introductions and waited for the words we had all longed to hear all day, "Gentlemen, Start your engines." During the driver introductions I was surprised to see a car with the coupons.com logo on it, (I haven't followed racing in a few years) so I decided that I would be pulling for that team. The driver of the car was Matt Kenseth.

I am sorry to say that this car and driver did not win, didn't even come close. He started from the 35th starting position and made it into the top 10. Matt crashed the #16 coupons.com car late in the race. Out of the 147 laps, he completed 134. He finished 30th.

While at the race, Chuck pointed out this couple to me that was sitting two rows down from us and when I looked it was the Tim and Penni from our former Church (FBC) that sang at our wedding almost 15 years ago. So during one of the cautions I went down and talked to them. What a surprise, she told me that they are at a Church that is about an hour from Darlington. At the time we were going to FBC, he was the youth and music minister. He is now the Senior Pastor of the Church they are at.

At one point in the race, Kaelyn looks at me and says, "Mom, I just love the smell of burnt rubber and the sound of those engines.". Do you think I might have me a race fan on my hands?

On a side note, there were so many beautiful old homes in Darlington. I managed to get a picture of this one while we were driving into town for the race Friday night.

A little of this, and a little of that. . .

So it has been a while since I last posted anything here. I have several things that I want to share, so it will be "a little of this and a little of that". Back in October I won two tickets to a Beth Moore event of my choice. So my sister and I headed to Atlanta on Friday, April 23 for Beth Moore's So Long Insecurity event that was to take place on the 24th. There were over 9,000 women in attendance there, not to mention even more that joined us through the simulcast. With that many women I was sure there would be some kind of pushing through lines and all of the sorts that come with large crowds, didn't see any of that taking place. We had good seating and even had a couple of sweet ladies sitting next to us. We enjoyed our time listening to Beth teach out of Ephesians 4:24, and talking to us about insecurities and how to overcome them. One of the things that she did before we left the conference was to commission each woman in attendance, you can go here to read the the commissioning statement. We had a great trip.

A few weeks ago I did a quick post about me joining the coupon craze, so yesterday I was printing some coupons out and my son comes up to me and says:

Tyler: "Mom, you really like couponing, don't ya?"
Me: "Yes, do you like that I use coupons?"
Tyler: "I guess, hey does this mean that couponing is your hobby now?"

I just about fell out of my chair. I guess if one wants to call couponing a hobby, then consider my new hobby to be couponing. ( o ;

This morning when I arrived at my sisters house, Wyatt met me at the door. One of the first things he asked me was, "where is Tyre (Tyler) and Kaeyn (Kaelyn)?" I told him they were at home. After we took Waylon to school we headed to my house. We had probably been home for about an hour when he noticed that they were not there. He then asked me where they were at and I told him they were at school. He got a look on his face to let me know that  he meant business and said matter of fact to me, "You said they were here." Boy did I have a hard time explaining that one to him. Once he gets something in his head, it is not always easy to get him to see it a different way. Wyatt is also just about to eat me out of house and home. I gave him breakfast this morning and then after playing for a while he said he was hungry and wanted "sometim" to eat. I have fed him almost non stop this morning. I know he does this for his Momma too.

We have an exciting weekend ahead of us (not just because it is Mother's Day), will be doing another post this weekend about it and hopefully with pictures.

For all of the Mom's out there here is an early "Happy Mother's Day".
